Robert Morton – Principal at RLM Consulting
As Principal at RLM Consulting, Toronto executive Robert Morton has more than two decades of experience leading in the financial services industry. He has an extensive background working in securities, asset management, equities, capital markets, and mutual funds.
In his current role, Robert provides strategic consulting to various industries with respect to strategy, strategic planning, new product development and organizational effectiveness.
Prior to his transition to RLM Consulting, Robert spent 3 years with Home Capital Group Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of financial support, treasury, strategic and capital planning/development, procurement and investor relations for Home Capital and Home Trust.
For over 21 years, Robert served in a capacity of roles at State Street Bank, most recently as the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at State Street Canada as well as the Principal Officer of State Street Bank and Trust Company – Canada Branch and the President of State Street Fund Services Toronto Inc.
His tenure at State Street Bank encompassed responsibilities which included the oversight of all aspects of finance and accounting for the State Street business lines and legal entities in Canada. He also led numerous Canadian and global merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence projects and business integrations and had the opportunity to manage, train, develop and mentor a diverse staff of over 60 professionals worldwide.
Robert Morton holds a range of licenses and certifications, including his CPA, CMA designation. His other education includes: The Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada); Chartered Director (C.Dir.) Audit Committee Certified (A.C.C.); and Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) – Chief Financial Officers Qualifying Examination and the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Qualifying Exam. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
In addition to his career accomplishments, Robert sits on the board of several community organizations. Currently, he is on the Board of New Hope Non Profit Dwellings (Durham) Inc., a non-profit corporation with 118 units located at 139 Mary Street North, Oshawa.
Outside of work, Robert Morton enjoys spending time with family and staying active.
